A bridge between home and school
“I wanted something that exposed my just-turned-2-year-old to other kids that was not just play, but not quite school. EPL hit the nail on the head!”

“I saw my son make a ton of progress with his speech and social skills after just one semester!”

What is preschool prep?
Our Preschool Prep Class is intended to bridge the gap between home and preschool. Perfect for young children who have been home with a caregiver and will benefit from exposure to other children in a school-like environment. The goals are socialization, ability to separate from the caregiver, and to begin understanding the routines of preschool.
This class meets twice per week, 2-hours each, for 10-weeks. During this time, your child will develop the foundational skills needed for an easy transition to preschool. They will learn how to follow a routine, sit for circle, independently transition between activities, be a good listener, and develop appropriate peer social interactions and coping skills. We do this in a nurturing and supportive environment and strive to make you and your child feel respected and comfortable during what can be a difficult transitioning time!
Our day includes free play, circle time, snack, and a one-hour enrichment activity. On Mondays we offer Art with San Francisco Children’s Art Center and Wednesdays we offer Music with Blue Bear School of Music! Therefore, a fellow early childhood provider from the community comes to our studio to lead a class. We carefully chose Art and Music for how they compliment each other.
Art requires following direction, sequencing, sitting, fine motor skills, waiting your turn, and exploring textures. Art is quiet, calm, and independent. We always break our art classes into three sections: 1) a teacher-directed, seated, activity 2) get up and move! 3) child-directed tactile activity (i.e. play-doh)
Music, on the other hand, is a bit more unstructured. It is a time to move our bodies, sing, dance, be silly! The children are still required to sit and attend (think: following a song that requires the child to tap rhythm sticks), but the focus is on exposure to different sounds and instruments. Our music class works more on gross motor and bilateral coordination skills.

what is a semester program?
The Enrich Play Learn Semester Programs are our flagship programs. Offered from September through May (Fall, Winter, and Spring) in 10-week blocks, these programs were carefully designed to save parents time while supplementing your child’s learning with multiple enrichment activities under one roof. Our small class size encourages social skills, while our structured and free play activities support motor development and academics. Each class follows the same routine, which gives children a sense of control and feelings of success. Two enrichment activities are offered each semester on alternate days. Intended to challenge different sides of the brain, these enrichment activities are the centerpiece of this program.
Our semester programs include: Preschool Prep, TK/PreK Enrichment, and Social Skills Group (no enrichment activity).
